Anything but a Boat Rules:
1. The Golden Rule
· No boats or boat parts allowed. This includes kayaks, canoes, rafts, paddleboards, inflatable boats, etc.
· Creative builds must use non-nautical items (e.g., kiddie pools, barrels, coolers, cardboard, duct tape, furniture).
2. Team Requirements
· Teams may consist of 1–4 people, depending on your water body size and safety guidelines.
· All team members on the craft must remain on or in it for the duration of the race.
3. Safety First
· All participants must wear Coast Guard-approved life jackets.
· No sharp edges, toxic materials, glass, or anything that could pose a hazard.
· A safety boat or lifeguard should be present during the race.
4. Craft Requirements
· The vessel must be handmade using non-boat materials.
· Must be human powered (paddles, hands, kicking). No motors or sails allowed.
· Must float without outside assistance at the start line.
5. Race Rules
· All crafts must start behind the designated start line.
· Participants must follow the set course to the finish line.
· No interfering with other racers (no ramming, pulling, or sabotage).
6. Judging Categories (TBD)
· Fastest Boat (Overall Winner)
· Most Creative Design
· Best Team Spirit
· Most Likely to Sink
7. Environmental Respect
· All teams must clean up their materials after the race.
· No leaving debris in the water or surrounding areas.
