HOW TO PLAY PICKLEBALL
By now you may have heard about the game of Pickleball, if not and are curious, check out this amazing video explaining the game and how it works. This video was created by David Borja, and filmed at the Birch Bay Activity Center. The film features some of our devoted Pickleball players!
A Lively Racket Game For All Ages and Abilities
Pickle-ball was created with one thing in mind: fun. It was designed to be easy to learn and play whether you’re five, eighty-five or somewhere in between.
Court and Gear
Pickle-ball is traditionally played on a badminton-sized court with special Pickle-ball paddles, made of wood or high-tech aerospace materials. The ball used is similar to a wiffle ball, but slightly smaller. The lower net and wiffle ball allow the game to be accessible to people of all ages and abilities, while still allowing more competitive players to test their mettle. Pickleball Inc. is the original manufacturer of pickleball paddles, nets, balls, and accessories. The latest versions of all these products can be found here on our website.
Rules Of The Game
In addition to the modified net and gear, there are several key rules in Pickle-ball® that help make the game more accessible. In tennis, and many net sports, games are often won and lost by the power of the serve. In Pickle-ball®, the ball must bounce once on each side before volleys are allowed. This opens the game to more players and extends play for added fun.

History of Pickle-Ball
Pickle-ball® was invented in 1965 on Bainbridge Island, outside Seattle, WA. The goal of Pickle-ball® then and now was to create a game that is fun for every member of the family. Click here to learn the History of Pickleball.

Let's give a big thanks to Pickleball Central for sending us the new Gamma paddle LEGEND for review. Many players in our club participated and played with the paddle for at least an hour. Here's what they had to say.
"I loved the feel of the grip and the control on the short shots. I felt more controlled in returning fast shots on the net. Overall the Gamma paddle was well suited for a smaller hand grip in combination with power." Heather
