In September 2022, Birch Bay Activity Center became an official Training and Testing Center of IPTPA, the International Pickleball Teaching Professional Association. At the same time, our Certified Teaching Professional Mark Livingston (Coach Mark) was named an IPTPA Director.
With this designation, BBAC joins a select group of organizations in the United States as hosts of an IPTPA Training and Testing Center. BBAC was already one of the few venues in the U.S. hosting an IPTPA Junior Development Training Center. This designation came in early 2022.
What this means for BBAC and pickleball players in our region (on both sides of the border) is access to a variety of IPTPA programs and services (delivered through Coach Mark). These include the IPTPA Skill-Level Rating System, IPTPA Coaching Certification, and IPTPA Junior Development Program.
