After School Enrichment

Blaine-Birch Bay Park and Recreation District 2 is now offering after school enrichment programs for grades K-6th.
Starting Wednesday, September 6, every Wednesday in September we will be offering outdoor survival topics. We will pick kids up from Blaine Schools (meeting at the Primary School Playground) and take them to Birch Bay State Park. There is also an option for parents to drop their kids off at Birch Bay State Park at 3:30 pm. Parents will pick kids up from Birch Bay State Park at 5 pm. The cost for the session is $20 or $25 for bus pick up from Blaine Schools.

September 6th: Forest Feast (Foraging for Food)
September 13th: Build a fort (shelter building)
September 20th: Treasure Hunt (Compass and Map Reading)
September 27th: Campfire and S'mores (Fire Building)
Starting September 11, every Monday in September will be Rock Painting Monday, where kids will learn different methods of painting rocks. This activity will take place under the covered area at Blaine Primary School. Meet instructors at the picnic table by the Primary playground. Pick up will be at 4:30 pm from the covered area at the Primary School. The cost for the session is $15 (3 Mondays).

Costume Creation: In the month of October, our Monday after school sessions will have a special theme - costume creation! Join us every Monday for a class filled with fun and creativity as we dive into the world of costume making. In this class, we will be building costumes, one piece at a time, while learning basic crafting concepts along the way. By the end of the month, you'll have your very own cool wearable costume! Happy Scrappers: Our Wednesday after school classes for the month of October will be Happy Scrappers. Happy Scrappers is the perfect opportunity for students to learn the basics of scrapbooking while creating a beautiful and personalized scrapbook to hold on to their summer memories. In this class, students will be introduced to the 101 basics of scrapbooking, including selecting materials, cutting and arranging photos, and embellishing pages with stickers, stamps, and other decorative elements. Whether they are new to scrapbooking or have some experience, this class will provide a fun and creative outlet for students to express themselves and preserve their cherished memories.
